Hi folks, rtlToronto July Monthly Dinner Friday July 12th, 2002, 6pm Swiss Chalet 2955 Bloor St W at Royal York Toronto, ON M8X 1B8 I've arranged, for a bit of a change, to have July's rtlToronto Monthly Dinner at Swiss Chalet in Etobicoke instead (...)   Re: Useless Trike piece to 4WD ATV

(...) Wow!!! that is quite innovative Calum. Nice thinking outside the box....that's management theory for seeing alternatives to the problem at hand, and coming up with new avante garde solutions. Now, your minifig is less likely to get hurt as a (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Useless Trike piece to 4WD ATV

I've been staring at this 6324 Chopper Cop tricycle for a long time, and realized how useless it seems-it can't really be anything more than a trike, though it has some nice features like a towing hitch and styling for the engine block. Smart (...) (22 years ago, 8-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Minifigre frozen in a mouse

This has to be the funniest thing I've seen in a while: (URL) a minifigure trapped in an optical mouse. It's about as funny as the time I had minifigures "living" in my pop machine at the University. Calum (22 years ago, 6-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Train station facade

(...) Wow!!!! Calum, that is impressive. I can't wait to see it when it is completed. (even more impressive, is the wall of $2 CDN bills in the background!!! sweet!!) Ben (22 years ago, 5-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Train station facade

Hi folks, I finished the majority of the front of my train station today: (URL) is a street level view, behind this section is a 96x48 shed that encompasses three tracks (or two tracks and a DerekMonorail(tm) beamway) It was a real fight to find all (...)   Re: Brickfest talk

Excellent job, Calum. Lots of neat pictures and useful information. I'm sure you will really put rtltoronto on the map after this talk! some of my thoughts... Organic design? That slide confused me a bit. I guess I can see your point about needing (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

pics uploaded about SWISS DAIRY PLANT...

I recently (early this morning) uploaded a new batch of digital photos of the work-in-progress on the dairy plant.   Re: Dinner again?

hi, I unfortunately cannot come to dinner that evening. I have drill all weekend long. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Let me know (by e-mail, if you must) what the game plan for Brickfest. Jeff, already wrote me about the costs of the accommodations. (...) (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Dinner again?

(...) That would be the 12th? Sounds good to me. Swiss Chalet in Etobicoke sounds like a nice change of scenery too. Hopefully we can all sit at one large table or something. John (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

  Re: Brickfest talk

(...) Well done Calum, I have a few quick comments: - There are 2 Closed Loop Techniques slides. - Are you going to discuss pnumatics, i.e. how to keep tanks full, I know Rob had a lot of cool mechanisnms for that. - Do you want any images done via (...)   Brickfest talk

Hi folks, Here's a draft copy of the Brickfest "Building Competition Robots" talk I'm scheduled to give. (URL) a bunch of placeholders and graphics missing which need to be put in, and a few more topics needed to be fleshed out, but there's 80% of (...)   Re: Dinner again?

(...) I'm OK for dinner. at that time (...) YES. We need to talk about Mels' Sure it is OK. BUT so darn incompatible with random groups.   Dinner again?

Is it time for dinner again? Apparently so. How's everyone for dinner next Friday? Also-how do people feel about going to the Swiss Chalet in Etobicoke (on the subway line) instead? Calum (22 years ago, 4-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

Re: Zellers 70% discontinued toy clearance...

(...) I went to my local Zellers, just to make sure... yep. No Lego on sale except for the Field Expansion at its "regular" price of $15. I can't wait for another BOGOHP sale. They got the new Island Extreme sets, but they are quite pricey for their (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)

(...) Amen!!!! :) We (Calum, Derek, Jeff, and I) were eating at Swiss Chalet....mmmmm, yummie!!! :) .... after Live 1.   Re: 4287 Red Slope Needed! Aaargh! :)

(...) I personally don't have that many of those parts. If you need only a few of them, Mike's Swamp Boat isn't too bad. If you need more than 4 or 5 of them, Bricklink is probably the way to go. Personally, in order to use the shipping costs (...) (22 years ago, 3-Jul-02, to lugnet.org.ca.rtltoronto)
