We had yet another meeting this time starting at Red Lobster. While waiting for
the table Ka-On and I took off for winners to shop. I got a few cheap sets and
but there really wasn't much there.

Supper was excellent. I have not been to Red Lobster for years and treated
myself to the Seafood Lover's feast. At the table we had a surprising total of
seven people. :-) There was Tim, Kevin Dixon (a first timer), Jeff, Ka-On, and
myself. We had two of my fellow MonLUGers, Kevin and Pierre as well. I am glad
to see the easy cross-over between the groups.

After supper, we went to TRU where hardly anything was on sale. In fact nothing
but the $60- Vision Command which I almost bought. Then I spotted a crushed 1.5
RIS on the shelf and asked to speak to the manager. I asked how much she wanted
for the Mindstorms Set and she looked up the price in the computer where she
pointed out the price was now $200.00, down from $300.00. I also read on the
screen the wholesale price was $164-. Anyways, after a little bit of coaxing
from the boys, I got a set that was on the shelf undamaged. :-)

Well, Tim survived showing Heidi his purchases in the last month so we were
able to to go to his place to have the meeting. Everyone showed off their MOCs
that they made. Ka-On stole the show with his MonoRail that used Znap for the
track and a 9V motor to pull it along.

Then we settled a few accounts and drooled over Tim's collection. I tried to
explain to Tim's toddler son that his father's LEGO was his but Tim just
doesn't know it yet. <G,D,R> He can almost say inheritence.

After that we retired to the basement to roll some trains. Well it became
rolling one train that grew to its maximum with less than 4 inches between the
lead engine and the tail. Next time we need more track, after all we had more
rolling stock available. :-)

Kevin Dixon took some pictures and video. You can see them following the links
in his post http://news.lugnet.com/org/ca/parlugment/?n=181. My pics are in my
camera but I am currently at work and it is at home. I will post them soon.

The next planned event is a field trip to Train2. We are going to finalize our
plans and try to get as many of us to go.

The challenge for the next meeting is to build a spaceship. Easy as cake! A
piece of pie! :-)

Peace Out!

Jude
