Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) Amongst model trainheads, Lego trains do not enjoy a high acceptance factor. "They're just toys" is the usual comment (I think they mean it as an insult....). There have been a few anti Lego train comments on aus.rail.models in the past. (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

I'll ring the people that orgainse it thursdayish, I just wanted to see if anyone at all was interested, there'd be no point setting something up with them if there wasn't any takers from this side. (...) Thanks for the tips Larry! Does anyone have any tips on whether a layout of this size is better done as a full "O" rather than a "C" or a "G"? I know a full "O" provides more area for stuff, but how much of a hassle is it getting access to the (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

I exhibited an N scale layout last year and had success with framing the viewing side of the layout (25mm angle aluminium across the front, about 400mm above the layout height); it (...) If we're gonna try this, maybe we should try to get a (semi-)serious layout happening in Melbourne for the StudFest in June? Just to give it a go, and see what we're doing wrong 8?) I'd be happy to be involved however I can be. I do have a fair bit of track and some trains too, so that might be useful *tongue in cheek*, and designing layouts is always fun reagrdless of the situation. This is getting silly. I hereby formally suggest we call Sydney-siders SLUGs, and get-togethers (no matter what area) StudFests.
