(...) That'd be a pity. It will be a long w'end so if you are down there you might still be able to catch a MUGlift (if any decide to visit) (...) Thanks! It might be easiest to make sure all the track comes from one source. (...) Yes, the ideas I'm (...) (24 years ago, 7-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) I'm surprised you didn't also post this to the regular lugnet.train newsgroup...it would have got some of them into the conversation.   Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) Amongst model trainheads, Lego trains do not enjoy a high acceptance factor. "They're just toys" is the usual comment (I think they mean it as an insult....). There have been a few anti Lego train comments on aus.rail.models in the past. (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) Maybe. I would like some more info on where it's being staged and manning requirements and security arrangements, but it sounds like a great idea. I wonder what the acceptance factor is amongst model trainheads for wonky scale Lego trains. I (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

I'd be happy to be involved however I can be. I do have a fair bit of track and some trains too, so that might be useful *tongue in cheek*, and designing layouts is always fun reagrdless of the situation. The only hitch is that there's no gaurantee (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) I'll ring the people that orgainse it thursdayish, I just wanted to see if anyone at all was interested, there'd be no point setting something up with them if there wasn't any takers from this side. It's a model railway show, so we're talking (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) I'd definitely be interested. I'm looking at building some train MOCs after I get my current project out of the way. Actually, my current project would probably look OK in a layout, but more on that when it's nearer to completion... (...) I (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

Re: Trains Trains and Train Shows.

Since last weekend at MUGfest, we had a train layout going (pictures to come), and there was a bit of interest in trains, there may be a chance some of the MUGs could be interested. Also I got my second train set today, Yippee! I could probably (...) (24 years ago, 6-Mar-01, to lugnet.loc.au, lugnet.org.au)

  Trains Trains and Train Shows.

(...) I think the first real meeting was mid 1999, Ben would know for sure, so I would say that is the date. Did we have the inaugural MLTC (VLTC) meeting yesterday? Martin (S) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au)

(...) In my little mind I'm a member of STUDS (capitalised, isn't an acronym, just funny in a non-PC non-genderspecific in-joke kind of way) which is the Sydney regional Lego Users Group (SLUG/SydLUG). Our bi-monthly gatherings are variously (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au)

MUGS (was Re: LUG & LTC dates of formation update)

I thought you were SLUGS, and the fests were StudFests. And I don't know if there's any "official" inception date for MUG, but I guess we could say 2001-01-26 as when we voted in our spokesman? MUGs wanna comment? ROSCO Peter White (...) (24 years ago, 5-Mar-01, to lugnet.org.au)
