  MichLUG to display at the Toy & Hobby Expo in Novi, MI
 
MichLUG will be displaying at the Toy & Hobby Expo in Novi, MI for a second year running. In addition to a town/train layout, which we displayed last year, we will also be showing a Moonbase layout. MichLUG will be displaying at the 1st Annual Midwest Lego Train Show in Wheaton, IL the weekend of December 6th & 7th, from 9am till 4pm. NELUG has an extensive group collection. We own road and base plates, tons of track, hundreds of trees, tables, skirts, tools (like ratchets and wrenches) as well as power strips and power cords. But NELUG also owns its own reference library of (...) (22 years ago, 27-Nov-03, to lugnet.org)

As a followup to the announcment, here are some photos from the setup day yesterday. Classic Castle fans should note the pretty extensive medieval village in one corner of the display (separated from the rest of the layout by a "reality barrier" of (...) MichLTC will be displaying at the Annual Southeast Michigan Model Train Show in Ann Arbor, Michigan on November 30th, from 10am till 4pm. There will be over 100 tables of model trains and railroadiana for sale, several operating layouts, and trains (...) MichLUG is happy to announce that we will be supporting the Children's Hospital of Michigan by sponsoring a tree at the 19th Annual Festival of Trees (Detroit). (...) Do things that people pay for. That's not supposed to be a smart aleck answer... the most common way is to be compensated for exhibiting at a show but it can also include creating things on commission or (potentially) selling things. (22 years ago, 29-Oct-03, to lugnet.org)

During a recent meeting here in Ottawa, the topic of acquiring group parts like baseplates and track came up. Being a member of two groups that have everyone contribute what they can for shows, I really don't see much benefit in doing this. I would (...)
