Just to update. I did some calling around and digging on the net and
discovered that the old celeron processer i was using isn't supported by
the system. THis wasn't mentioned from the site i ordered from or in
the manual (maybe it was but it was in geekspeak and i wasn't wearing
my decoder ring :)
Anyway, i stopped by my local indy computer stoe in town and they had a
single 1GHz celeron processer there for a good price. I popped it in
and it works fine. Well almost fine... i have some tweaking to do.
It's a fine little system. i'm using it for an interface to a digital
balance to weigh close to 4000 plant samples for my thesis. I'm also
using as a digital image analysis system. Real estate is valuable in
the lab. Also, the thing just looks cool! I'll be moving it home in a
few months and probably integrating it into something else.
Thanks for your advice Tobbe, I tried most of your suggestions before I
discovered the processer problem.
