I'm buying a Shuttle SV24 for LDRAW and Linux. It's a toaster-sized PC you
can put together for under $600:

Advantages: low hassle, lots of ports for exotic input/output devices, and
it's small enough to hide.
Disadvantages: bad for games, not cutting-edge (P III to 1.1ghz).
