Chris, First of all STOP SAVING FILES TO YOUR HARD DRIVE...the data should still be present, as the file system in your OS just opens the AREA of the disk with the data on it to be overwritten, not actually wiping out the data itself. I just added tons of files to my computer this week, unknowingly... downloaded all my pictures from zing.com (they're closing their doors, unfortunately :-( ) plus added over 200 songs to my mp3 collection over the (...) (...) Thanks Matt.... I owe you one... I lost only about 10% of the total file set... I guess because of netscape caching pages and my searching for the files. I'm happy to hear that you recovered them...:-) Here are some advice: ** Make at least *two* *more* copies of any data you don't want to lost. ** Never Trust Floppies, they are volatile, literally. ** Make your HDD defargmented by using either (...) Selcuk/Steve Yeh everything has been backed up in several places. I've been slow to do backups of late for a number of reasons.
