Chris,
First of all STOP SAVING FILES TO YOUR HARD DRIVE...the data should still be
present, as the file system in your OS just opens the AREA of the disk with
the data on it to be overwritten, not actually wiping out the data itself.
Each time you save a new file to disk now, you run the risk of the data you
want to recover being overwritten, and then it will REALLY be gone for good.
(and if you are using programs that create temporary working files without
your knowledge, like MS Word, stop using them also)

| ooooh. Great piece of advice. Too bad I didn't hear about this about two weeks ago, I lost two very important pictures (group pictures of my parents' conference, they were *really* mad). I bet it's all gone by now... :-/ -Shiri (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)

It took me a while to figure out that I had lost them. Luckily, I had just copied some of (...) (23 years ago, 19-Jun-01, to lugnet.off-topic.geek)
