I actually left out some other possibilities for small error. The weight
of the bag itself is certainly an opportunity for error. Another
opportunity of course is if any foreign material or scrap gets into a
bag or on the scale. Of course this type of manufacturing system
typically runs in a pretty clean environment (that may actually be part
of the motivation behind the automation, people can bring in a lot of
incidental trash - ask anyone who has volunteered at a show cave [like
Carlsbad Caverns] which has annual cleanups. They remove bags of lint
from the caves).
