Yeah, but it breaks down at this point because the reality of the
world we live in (where the PC is THE computer and the Mac is mostly a
single-digit percentage also-ran) exists not only because of the
massive far-reaching evil power of Bill Gates, but equally because of
the mostly uninspired arrogance and bad decision-making of Jobs and
others at Apple.
Saw the funniest thing I've ever seen from a Mac advocate today.
Probably the most religiously-devoted Mac user on our campus suggested
someone upgrade his MacOS to solve a Real Player problem. Funny, I
thought the Mac just worked, with all these constant upgrades and
patches the fate PC users were doomed to.
Who knows, though, maybe the iBook will pull Apple even farther out of
the crapper. Too bad they couldn't catch onto the "make computers
normal people can afford" idea several years ago.
