It's a cousin of Wal*Mart. Same company. (The "Sam" comes from the Wal*Mart
guy.) It's basically a Wal*Mart which speciallizes in a) selling things in
bulk and b) making everything as inconvenient as possible. I think their
target market is my grandparents. They're pretty excited about it.
You can buy giant-sized containers of just about anything (not counting
Lego, sadly). And the store design is pretty much from the "big warehouse"
school of architecture. And things aren't labeled well if at all, and
there's something weird about the payment methods they accept (I forget
what; I'm actually too tired to be writing this message *). Oh and they
don't let you in unless you've paid to become a member. And membership is
restricted to: small-business owners. And teachers. And senior citizens. And
nurses. And people who work at large businesses. And people who have jobs.
And people who get membership applications in the mail.
* Went to Frank Black concert. It was pretty good.
