Interesting note about DIVX being "dead":
All player purchases prior to 16 June, 1999 are eligible for a $100 rebate. see
http://www.divx.com/
And, quote "existing, registered customers will be able to view discs during a
two-year phase-out period"
And finally, Circuit City is *still* selling them. The advert circular for
June 20th has the top half of the back page devoted to DIVX. With no overt
mention of the the fact that DIVX is down the tubes. Buyer beware.
But, to be fair, the players do play normal DVD's. DIVX is just an added
feature.
