  Time Warnrer Cable drops ABC local Channels
 
Time Warner Cable was unable to get Disney to sign a contract to allow the cable broadcasting of ABC local channesl. Not a smart move for Disney during sweeps month, especially in a market as large as NYC. So, for now, I have no ABC on cable (not a (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Ya, I'd say government fostered cable monopolies aren't serving the customer interest very well, are they? If Time Warner had some competition in their markets other than rabbit ears perhaps they wouldn't have the chutzpah to point fingers at (...) (24 years ago, 2-May-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

In order for Time Warner to be able to carry the local ABC channels, Disney is insisting that Time Warner carry their new Cartoon and Soap opera channels and (...) (...) Well, I *would* have been affected, if I had cable, but I don't have cable or a dish. I use a 6' antenna in my attic, on the rare occasion when I actually turn on the TV.
