I agree that there should be better education - but as long as guns
are around, accidents will happen. IDF [1] makes everyone go through
basic training (anything from 3 weeks to 6 months) - in which they are
tought a lot about weapons, and weapons safty - that doesn't mean that
there are no gun accidents in the army though. Same goes for school -
yes, you should teach kids how to be safe with guns, it doesn't mean
they should be able to walk up to dad's cabinet and play with his
shotgun.

what's the hysteria again? (I may be lost)... isn't the issue trigger
locks? what's wrong with you getting with a new gun a trigger lock?
nothing says you have to use it, or that you can't throw it away...

isn't it? I think it still pretty rare that people carry (and use)
guns on their commute... and I do think that road-rage will be a lot
more scary if half the drivers were armed.

but doesn't that contradict your statment about how it's a right to
carry arms? Don't felons have rights? (This is just for the debate's
sake - I believe in a stricter gun control, not looser)

It is not a large leap from "all A will be supplied with X under penalty of law" to "all citizens with A (...) (25 years ago, 16-Mar-00, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)
