I know I’m more likely to ask conservative friends with Libertarian leanings to take the quiz (which might account for the reason that there are a lot more Libertarians than Right-Conservatives). Still, I wouldn’t call the Libertarian segment an “overwhelming majority”.

Please check the date on the site I cited.

Or you could say “oops, that information is outdated”.

That would involve admitting that an error was made...

Hmm. I noted the date before I cited the text. The fact that the date is in very large text at the bottom of the page should be enough for anyone!

  1. Did you know that the worlds best healthcare system (France) is state run, and

I’d like to see some figures to back up those claims.

Try this search:

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&ie=UTF-8&q=GNP+spent+on+healthcare+by+country&btnG=Google+Search

and you’ll find some cites that do indicate that we spend a lot of our GNP on healhcare, for instance this one

http://www.chiff.com/a/HLFH703cost.htm

or this one

http://members.shaw.ca/tfrisen/whichisthebetterhealthcare.htm

and these sorts of studies seem to be the sort trotted out when the inefficiency charge is laid... (1)

but you’ll also find this cite:

WOW. September 1992!

which, however, I expect not a lot of the readership here (especially Scott!)

Hardly an independent assessment! For now I’ll stick to the WHO: “Using five performance indicators to measure health systems in 191 member states, it finds that France provides the best overall health care followed among major countries by Italy, Spain, Oman, Austria and Japan... The U. S. health system spends a higher portion of its gross domestic product than any other country but ranks 37 out of 191 countries according to its performance, the report finds.”
