I've never liked seat belt laws. It is fundamentally, a persona choice whether
to buckle up or not.
I say "Darwin, go to it!"--I'll wear my seatbelt because I want to, not because
some law makes me. ANd od someone doesn't buckle up, that's their kettle of
fish they have to live with.
A few years back Toronto tried to pass a bike helmet law, making it mandatory
for all bike riders to wear helmets. There was such an outcry that hte law was
changed such that only people under the age of 18 were required to wear helmets.
I'd love to see the seat belt law stricken. But that's just me.
