Disagree. I do not believe in the one peace -- not the Pax Romanus, nor the
Pax Americana.
Ever play "King of the Hill" -- where one person stands atop a rock or a
small dirt mound and everyone else tries to forcibly remove the king from
his position of dominance? We are now King of the Hill -- the singular
tempting target.
Peace is maintained through balance and relationship, not the exertions of a
singular power.
Larry, would it be easier to keep your wife as a slave -- or is it more
beneficial (for a variety of reasons) to maintain a relationship to her as
your more or less equal partner? I speak not of perfect equality, but a
rough enough approximation of equality to keep everyone involved comfortable
with the relationship.
