To be perfectly honest, it's just not something I've ever seen. I've never
gotten a misprinted brick, I've never gotten a set with missing or damaged
parts, I've not noticed a general decline(1) in part quality in recent years.
I think I've processed plenty of Lego(2), so if the quality problems are as
widespread as some are implying, I should have seen something, right? I
haven't heard very many people complaining about it. If I don't see it, and
most people aren't complaining about it, I'm going to assume it's not that
big a deal.
YMMV

1:I have noticed some specific parts have changed, like small swords are
made from a different plastic now, but in general parts are parts, and I
can't tell recent ones from old ones.
2:I'm no Frank or Larry or Conan, but I've gone through enough brick to
count as a decent sample. 150 000+
