Because right now there are 1000's of people moving from the former eastern
block to the UK under there own steam to work on UK farms etc. As far as I
know, this is at no direct cost to the UK tax payer - why should it be?

I agree with you 100% But I expect ideas like this only help the short-term
unemployed. The longer-term unemployed and those who do not want to work
(there are some like this in the UK) are much harder to budge. But all this
is from my UK perspective!

Why should workers not be able to get on their own bike? I would be more in
favour of a loan or even paying interview expenses - but not the whole lot
shebang.
Would you like to see the program go national? Would you extend it to non-us
nationals living overseas?
