Re: More news on 2000 lineup!)

(...) Pepsi is waaayy too sweet for my taste, so I possibly could. It got me to thinking - re the pepsi taste challange.. could you 'feel' the difference between Lego and Megablocks blindfolded? Sounds almost like a LegoFest party-game :) Richard (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: More news on 2000 lineup!)

(...) What is the difference between Coke, Pepsi, and any other cola? I bet that if you tasted unmarked samples, you wouldn't be able to tell which was which... --Bram BTW, I have two black falcon fortresses, but that's the extent of my castle (...)   Re: Ninja vs. "real" Castle (was: Re: More news on 2000 lineup!)

(...) Hey, I like Pepsi :-) Much better than Coke, IMO. It is sweeter. I'll drink either, but when I have the choice, it is always Pepsi for me. (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Stallman mentions Lego in newspaper article

Followups to off-topic.debate, because... suffice it to say, I do not agree, sir. :-) Stallman may be a bit flakey as a person, but I think the general theme that one can create "free" software and make a healthy living from it is extremely valid. I (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.loc.uk, lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Ninja vs. "real" Castle (was: Re: More news on 2000 lineup!)

(...) There is no inherent conflict with respecting other peoples opinions and calling them into question. Unless you call them into question without respect. In the absence of universal truth surely everyones opinions are equally valid, and deserve (...) (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Well, aside from the fact that most Mac users ARE doofuses, yes, I get your point. :) (...) That's ok, you're just being a doofus, as am I. (25 years ago, 9-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

B5 (was: Re: Ninja vs. "real" Castle)

(...) Hey! I reserve the right to be a doofus but... <..insert long-winded defence of B5 here..> Actually, the reason why I'm not going to write up a long-winded defense of B5 is because to the best of my knowledge the networks over in the US failed (...)   Re: Ninja vs. "real" Castle (was: Re: More news on 2000 lineup!)

(...) It would appear that way, at least partially. He may also be comparing it only to the mid- to late-90's Castle sets and not to the glory days mid-80's sets...? (...) I don't see how anyone could prefer Pepsi to Coke. I don't see how anyone (...) (25 years ago, 8-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.castle, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Meccano vs. Erector (WAS:Re: Top Ten Toys on A&E)

There are a bunch of Meccano sets (as well as Lego) on DYA's sale page if your interested in seeing pics of current kits. As with Lego (and Erector, Airfix, etc), the older Meccano sets are a little better. (URL) Have fun! John My Trade/Sale (and (...)   Re: Meccano vs. Erector (WAS: Top Ten Toys on A&E)

Allan, a very nice summary or overview of Meccano & Erector. I enjoyed both the article and the images. Your father did a very nice job. I hope the LEGO Group does take note of some of the lessons they could learn from the rise and slow decline of (...) (25 years ago, 5-Nov-99, to lugnet.general, lugnet.off-topic.debate)

(...) Meccano went broke a long time ago! As for having a reaction...I think they'd drop dead!. I have a 6A book from my dad's stuff, as well as having read a fair number of the meccano magazines over the years. I have up to #3 set, and some (...)   Re: Top Ten Toys on A&E
