Re: Hollywood vs. Bush Admin. - who's smarter?

In lugnet.off-topic.debate, Amy Hughes writes: Hey, who let a woman in here? This is a testosterone proving ground, I'll have you know! (GD&R) Dave! (22 years ago, 25-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Just Teasing, I Have No Intention of Debating Any of This...

(...) Allow me to repeat this yet again. The percentage of votes that Gore supposedly won the nation wide popular vote by was less than the percentage of votes bush won in Florida by. Both numbers are well within the margin of error. However the (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Outrageous Iraqi Geneva Convention Violation

(...) If you mean that I damn them if they breach Geneva Conventions, and I damn them if they abide by Geneva Conventions, but fight to preserve an evil regime, then yes you could say that. As far as being squeaky clean, I don't agree that one must (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Just Teasing, I Have No Intention of Debating Any of This...

(...) Sorry if I haven't been clear. I don't have any expectation that the market will provide me whatever I fancy, in this market or any other. What my expectation is, though, is that for it to be a free market, there cannot be unreasonable (...) (22 years ago, 25-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Just Teasing, I Have No Intention of Debating Any of This...

(...) You seem to be confusing between choosing from what's available, with having a right to choose from what's available, with somehow expecting that you should be offered whatever happens to suit your fancy. So, yes, I can argue it. (...) I'm not (...) (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Hollywood vs. Bush Admin. - who's smarter?

Ah, the war of degrees... That often has a lot to do with money and opportunity, esp. in the U.S. where an education is hardly free even at a state university. I should like to see a comparison based on something like I.Q. and history of addiction. (...) (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Outrageous Iraqi Geneva Convention Violation

(...) You could equally say damning them if they do, damning them if they don't. As others have said neither side is squeaky clean in this "War on Terrorism". ROSCO (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Hollywood vs. Bush Admin. - who's smarter?

Who's smarter, Hollywood or the Bush administration? An amusing analysis can be found here... (URL) (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Outrageous Iraqi Geneva Convention Violation

(...) Gee, I figured you were simply in a position of being unable to reply. Motive? O yeah, everyone is just stupid -- but Larry knows the truth! Everyone else is just stupid, yeah that's the ticket...that explains it... -- Hop-Frog (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Just Teasing, I Have No Intention of Debating Any of This...

(...) Yes, seriously--why is that? One cable company--I hate that. I don't want to go to satellite 'cause then I lose my internet connex, and I dislike High Speed dial-up, etc. But every few months, my cable bill goes up a couple of dollars, even (...)   Re: Outrageous Iraqi Geneva Convention Violation

(...) Penance. No, to pay penance you have to admit you sinned, I believe. Scott has made no such admission, and in fact, according to some, he's worse than ever. (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Just Teasing, I Have No Intention of Debating Any of This...

(...) Because you have a coercive monopoly. A government granted that company a monopoly... But you know this already, Dave! What are you up to? (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Outrageous Iraqi Geneva Convention Violation

(...) I'm perfectly at fault here with my previous post to John--'shut up and take a seat'--implying that he's not contributing anything worthwhile to the discussion and seems to spout the same rhetoric over and over and over again (he who's not (...)   Re: Just Teasing, I Have No Intention of Debating Any of This...

(...) Really? Then why can I only choose from a field of one cable company in my area? Dave! (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Geneva Convention on POW treatment is just another inconvenience to the Iraqi Regime?

(...) Chris, you're wasting your breath with Scott. Many (but unfortunately not all) of us now ignore Scott... you might consider it too. But to answer your question, yes, Scott does think that way about the US, by and large. (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Outrageous Iraqi Geneva Convention Violation

(...) Harsh... Not very PC of you to point that out. I must say, for a sec there, I thought RM was talking about HERE in his quote about it being war... for after all, he does not play well with others here, does he? Consider this post (URL) the big (...) (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Just Teasing, I Have No Intention of Debating Any of This...

(...) I'll let the market (of ideas) decide. Oh wait, it did! You lost, Dave! (22 years ago, 24-Mar-03, to lugnet.off-topic.debate)

Re: Keeping tabs on a Useful Idiot

(...) What gave you that idea? I've spelled out some of his howlers in this very forum! And here's another: Following 9-11, he claimed that the Bush administration allowed the bin Laden family's private jet to roam freely throughout the US, (...)
