  Re: At BigW today...

(...) Hey! I just realized how long it's been since I've been anywhere near one of your posts, Pete. :D I would imagine, however, that MB has done whatever it can to ramp up production of these military sets--primarily, I'd gather, because they're (...)   Oops, sorry

(...) Appologies for posting in the wrong group! I didn't know it would default to a sub-group in such a manner, now I know to make sure and check that! Ahh well, I'll be quiet now! plucky (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Testing, testing...

1...2....3? Will it append my real name on it's own, or not... hmmm... We'll see here I guess! (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

Wow. I was excited to see this, but, it looks yucky. The Buckleberry ferry set has neat lanterns, if they detach. I would try these out to see if the details can be reusable. But: these sets have no soul. They don't even have three walls! FYI, the (...) (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) Not only do I think that someone should build a mini-fig version(s), but also if the people are right, and the sets are substandard, then design a legoized LotR with a more realistic set-up. Benjamin Medinets (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) I think if 'they' have provided the instructions to thier models then we should make use of them somehow. Ok. Hands up anyone who thinks building a mini-fig version in ML-Cad will cause problems? Alex (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad)

Re: WTB: Legend Lion's Kingdom, and Griffon's Hide Out MISB

(...) Don't know yet, it hasn't arrived. I was slow as molasses paying the bill so it's my fault really... Thanks for the heads up, this is the last one I'll need. =) -- hop-Frog (23 years ago, 13-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) The site's been down for a few months, so I don't think it's a response to any recent developments. I never noticed Block-Men to be a particularly brick seller; it seems likely that a tepid market was sufficient to kill the product line. Dave!   Tubs [was: Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???]

(...) Last I saw my local Wal-Mart still had a fair number of Mega Bloks tubs, and even more identical tubs manufactured by Ritvik but sold under the house brand name "Kid Connection". (And yes, they clearanced their 3033s months ago.) I thought (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) Dig deeper... they have posted .pdfs of their instructions!!! Derezzed so that you couldn't publish them as your own, of course. But this is pretty amazing, I think. Brickshelf management team: Call your lawyer. :-) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

Here is a link (URL) depending on the quality of the peices castle fans that don't mind clone bricks will like these. I personally think the stone gargoyle peices are very niffty.   MegaBloks massive Sea Wolf set

Saw this at TRU today: the Sea Wolf, a new entry in the Pro Builder line. It's a huge -- huge -- submarine with an interior, and electronic sound feature. I didn't have a lot of time to look at it, so this is from sketchy memory: it's about 3 feet (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(Note follow-ups.) I've seen a couple mentions recently on various newsgroups that Playmates Toys had a "construction toy" license for Lord of the Rings. Never saw any concrete info, though Playmates has an "Intelli-Blox" logo on their website (not (...)   Are Brix Blox LEGO-compatible?

From time to time I see these pop up on eBay, sometimes in the form of generic building sets, sometimes as themed Disney sets. Does anyone one these Blox? Do they work with LEGO? Dave! (23 years ago, 8-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Daluland Castle

(...) That set, and it's packaging in particular, really define the term "clone", don't they? I mean, GEEZ! Even their logo is infringing on the LEGO trademark! My guess? A cheap Chinese molds-from-existing-toy LEGO knockoff. Matt (23 years ago, 5-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
