Tubs [was: Re: How about "Technic Tubs" ???...???]

(...) Last I saw my local Wal-Mart still had a fair number of Mega Bloks tubs, and even more identical tubs manufactured by Ritvik but sold under the house brand name "Kid Connection". (And yes, they clearanced their 3033s months ago.) I thought (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.dear-lego, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) Hmmm, As a result of sensitvity to recent news events, or for other reasons? (...) Shame they won't be over here in the UK... :-( (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) Dig deeper... they have posted .pdfs of their instructions!!! Derezzed so that you couldn't publish them as your own, of course. But this is pretty amazing, I think. Brickshelf management team: Call your lawyer. :-) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) The Block-Men site no longer exists, and I have a sense that the manufacturer dropped the product line. There's no indication on the website at (URL) that Block-Men are still made. Browsing the instructions online, I notice that the 8x16 (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(...) Thanks for the link--my watchful web filters here at work weren't letting me go to www.playmates.com, and I didn't know where else to look! Dave! (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

Here is a link (URL) depending on the quality of the peices castle fans that don't mind clone bricks will like these. I personally think the stone gargoyle peices are very niffty. As far as set design and the use of "block bottom action figures"... (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  MegaBloks massive Sea Wolf set

Saw this at TRU today: the Sea Wolf, a new entry in the Pro Builder line. It's a huge -- huge -- submarine with an interior, and electronic sound feature. I didn't have a lot of time to look at it, so this is from sketchy memory: it's about 3 feet (...) (23 years ago, 12-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Careful what you wish for: clone LOTR blocks sighted

(Note follow-ups.) I've seen a couple mentions recently on various newsgroups that Playmates Toys had a "construction toy" license for Lord of the Rings. Never saw any concrete info, though Playmates has an "Intelli-Blox" logo on their website (not (...)   Are Brix Blox LEGO-compatible?

From time to time I see these pop up on eBay, sometimes in the form of generic building sets, sometimes as themed Disney sets. Does anyone one these Blox? Do they work with LEGO? Dave! (23 years ago, 8-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Daluland Castle

(...) That set, and it's packaging in particular, really define the term "clone", don't they? I mean, GEEZ! Even their logo is infringing on the LEGO trademark! My guess? A cheap Chinese molds-from-existing-toy LEGO knockoff. Matt (23 years ago, 5-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Daluland Castle

I saw this item on ebay today, unfortunately someone snapped it up using "Buy it Now." (URL) said that it was a "Daluland" castle, similar to Lego. The picture was very blurry, couldn't make much out. Has anyone ever heard of Dalu or Daluland? I (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Knight and Wolf Mega Bloks MECHA

I saw the Knight and Wolf Giant Blok Bot set at my local Fred Meyer last night for $19.99. The color scheme is pretty cool, with silver and blue. The blokifig is pretty cool, too. He has a blue chestplate and silver arms, legs, and helmet. He has a (...) (23 years ago, 4-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Coko Bricks fantasy castle (>900 pieces) on ebay

(...) I was thwarted, too. Great marketing, Joseph! You got more money than several types of Lego Castles usually go for. Nice work. I guess maybe the sheer rarity of your item was another big factor in your favor. (23 years ago, 1-Oct-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Coko Bricks fantasy castle (>900 pieces) on ebay

(...) Joseph--Do you have one of these? I like the super shiny Knights from the picture, and they sort of remind my of Larami Knights. Are they similar? Aaron D (23 years ago, 27-Sep-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Making round shields

(...) Fascinating. I like the odd playmobile or clone item, armor bit, or weapon because it seems to add spice to things. Sometimes it is fun to just make your own out of common household objects (I have a regiment of soliders who carry the tiny (...)   Re: WTB: Legend Lion's Kingdom, and Griffon's Hide Out MISB

Dave!: Many thanks for the heads up. I guess I'll go for it, although I really need two of this set...still, something looks weird about the Griffon's tail and the wing is off in the picture. Or is it an extra pair of wings? Hmmm... What to do, what (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: WTB: Legend Lion's Kingdom, and Griffon's Hide Out MISB

(...) FYI. It's not even close to MISB, but maybe worth a look: (URL) The auction's not mine, I don't know the seller, and I will not be bidding on this item. Dave! (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
