  Re: What's the connection?

(...) Coko, until about 6 years ago was sold in the US at some TRU, Rite-Aid, and Aldi stores (at least those are the ones I know of). Little generic Coko sets (with no name) were sold at Walgreens. It has been at least 5 years since I have seen any (...) (24 years ago, 11-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: What's the connection?

(...) some odd designs, like 1x1 plates with a stud2 on top, as well as 4-high castle wall segments. Does anyone know if Coko can ship to the US or has a US distributor? I suppose it would be prohibitively expensive to order directly from them, but (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: What's the connection?

(...) Blok-Tek was made by Coko. I believe that Coko is a clone of both Tyco and Lego. Some of their stuff is almost exactly like Tyco, while some of their bricks are only available from Lego. Baseplates and castle wheels are Tyco, but no half (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  What's the connection?

In recent months I've acquired a number of old clone sets, and I've noticed some clear similarities that make me wonder about the connections between the various manufacturers. Certain non-standard-brick pieces from Coko and Blok-Tek are identical (...) (24 years ago, 10-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Lego cutting plates in Catalogue Dioramas (Was and part of it still is Re: More on the decline of LEGO quality... [long])

(...) Top marks Nicholas! No I didn't know this, but suddenly one of my heretical pursuits is considerably less heretical. Admittedly I don't tend to cut up roadplates (haven't got enough of those), I cut up grey baseplates to make ship decks, but (...)   Re: Exceedingly Rare Baseplates?

I've thought about getting these baseplates occasionally (the first used toy store I went to had one of the dinosaur sets, complete with baseplate) since they might make nice islands for the Pirate Game, but I just keep holding off. Mega Bloks also (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Exceedingly Rare Baseplates?

(...) I do, I do, I have two. (...) You can see both in that first shot, a dark tan one and a lighter tan one. I was lucky to get both sets in box at Target for approx A$7 each, leaving two more ravaged examples on the shelf, never to be seen again. (...)   Re: Exceedingly Rare Baseplates?

(...) I have a suspicion that Peter White has one of these - I liked it. I remember thinking, wait a sec, that's not square, that can't be lego.... I think we used it as terrain in the very first BrikWars, pictured in the right side middle of this (...) (24 years ago, 6-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Exceedingly Rare Baseplates?

The Velociraptor and Parasaurolophus dinosaur sets of some years ago came with smallish raised baseplates in a dark tan color. I've bought several of these dinosaur sets on Ebay, listed usually as "complete," but I've never received a baseplate with (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: HES Valhalla - Pics

(...) I can't wait! And I'm hoping it includes a bunch of 2x2 rounds, as the tiny picture suggests it might... Have you seen an open copy of the Harley yet? I'm intrigued, but I'd like to hear a parts inventory before I plunk down my $$. I'm not a (...) (24 years ago, 5-Jan-01, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)
