Can we all agree that LEGO is superior in quality?
|
Yup.
Price, and themes. MB is waaaaay cheaper for those of us who like to build BIG.
The unashamedly military Command Ops line and cheeky Alien Agency line are fun,
and some of the ProBuilder sets (Tank, APC, Huey, Cobra, Missile Truck) are very stylish.
|
Is it simply a price issue?
|
No, but its a price issue too. I have bought MB Aircraft Carriers just for the
pieces. Otherwise I couldnt possibly build things like minifig scale
Escort Carriers, decently
proportioned spaceships, or the
minifig scale Republic Cruiser from Ep1 that I am having a whack at now. And I
am not crying poor - I simply dont feel the need to invest that much in my
hobby just to have the word Lego inscribed on the studs. My model building
experience is as rich either way, and richer still for both ways.
|
If LEGO were cheaper would you still buy clones?
|
Probably not. Bulk blocks would need to be a lot cheaper.

Is it that you have something against TLG the company?
|
(Warning: John has pressed a Red button)
Goodness. Why is it that some Americans have this bizarre Either you agree
with me in every way, or youre against me thing going. This is something I
dont get. Maybe you can help me with that.
No, I have nothing against TLG, and I am flummoxed by your baselessly asserting
that I do, just because I dont only buy Lego. I am a big fan of the company,
and dont understand why my ridiculously large collection of Lego should count
for nought because I buy MB from time to time.
And while were about it, no, I am not, nor have I ever been, a member of the
Communist Party. Disturbingly, I have in the past found, and continue to find,
the Manifesto of the Communist Party by Marx and Engels (1872), a very
interesting and worthy read. You might assert that I have something against
democracy, property, and personal wealth? You would be wrong there too.

Is it something else Ive missed?

Only the fun themes.

Help this purist understand your strange ways.

(Warning: John has pressed an Amber button)
Ahhh purists. More of this unnecessary them and us. Sadly I am seldom
much use to purists. I find we have some pretty cataclysmically fundamental
differences about the intrinsic value of their purity, and my accepting my
inferior, impure status. Sorry about that.
