Re: Adding part updates (and clone parts)

(...) Fortunately, I had already made some small steps in that direction prior to Matthew's debut! (And my clone-collaborator wasn't involved in the birth at all, so his efforts have proceeded unabated.) (...) Oh, that... The well-designed site (as (...)   Re: Adding part updates (and clone parts)

(...) Since it's been about a month now, I figure it's time to check up on this again. Anything happening here, or is it now a hopelessly lost cause. Given the recent happy announcement, I'm assuming it's been indefinitely put off. By the way, where (...) (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.cad.dev.mac, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Not just another Mega Bloks vs. Lego article

There are some really interesting tidbits about Lego and Mega Bloks in this article from the Kansas City Star (requires registration to view): (URL) there is a lot in here that is general knowledge, including a concise report on the falling numbers (...)   Re: Art Asylum Mini-Mates blocks

(...) Well, I'm flummoxed. It seems unlikely to me that LEGO would provide true-LEGO bricks without requiring a clear indication on the packaging, but I can't imagine, given TLG's successful litigation against Coko/Shifty, that TLG would allow a (...)   Art Asylum Mini-Mates blocks

from Raving Toy Maniac's coverage of Toy Fair 2004: (URL) my fav so far is the Javelin 7 another set from Toy News International: (URL) in both pics, it's obvious that several pieces are direct COPIES of Lego pieces. I wonder if Art Asylum bought a (...) (21 years ago, 19-Feb-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

  May I present...

(...) Watch out, purists--another clone-fan is on the scene. One Matthew Aaron Schuler made his debut at 12:34PM ET on Feb 9. Mom, Dad, and son are super-groovy, I'm happy to report. If you're interested, pictures will follow tomorrow, so that all (...) (21 years ago, 18-Feb-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.off-topic.debate, lugnet.people)

Re: New Mega Bloks Military sets found.

(...) Mmmmm. And the Command Ops sets have finally made it out here to the periphery. Only took 6 months :-( Well, one set has, the (URL) Capture>. AUD30 at Big W (Campbelltown, Sydney). I haven't seen a review, sooooo... I have to say I'm (...) (21 years ago, 14-Feb-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Re: Golden Ratio (was Over 70 LEGO products copied)

(...) There isn't a link there, because the Golden Section isn't 2:3... The golden ratio is derive from a rectangle where if a square is cut from the rectangle, the remaining piece is another golden ratio rectangle. So, the sides of the original (...)   Re: Monolith Dimensions

(...) My excuse is that john Gerlach and I were posting our posts at essentially the same time, not that someone posted something (more than a week earlier in your case, Dave) thatI should have read before posting to the thread. So I'll see your (...) (21 years ago, 24-Jan-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: Monolith Dimensions

  Re: Monolith Dimensions

(...) But no one in this thread has pointed out that the monolith is 1x4x9 yet! Or did I miss a post... Dave K (21 years ago, 23-Jan-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Over 70 LEGO products copied

(...) That's true - I remember seeing those other sets around too. Although they look like Lego themes, they're not copies of specific sets. I seem to remember spotting that the 1x1 bricks are cubes too. So, why are Lego parading it as an illegal (...) (21 years ago, 22-Jan-04, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, FTX)

Re: Over 70 LEGO products copied

Re: Over 70 LEGO products copied

(...) Hey, I didn't specify which monolith I was citing. Now that you mention it, though, Best-Lock bricks and tiles allow you to build to the precise proportions of Clarke's Monolith, 20 LDraw Units deep by 80 units wide by 180 units tall. Groovy. (...)
