  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Reading the (URL) page, I always thought it was just assumed (in the "commonly understood" sense) that the purpose of ldraw.org was to unify LDraw things that were specifically LEGO-related (i.e., not for non-LEGO stuff). But maybe that's just (...) (25 years ago, 25-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Sure would. (...) You're probably more right than I am here. Afterall, it promotes LDraw, and the point of ldraw.org is a centralized resource. Not allowing non-Lego LDraw models on the site would be contradicting that charter and encouraging (...)   Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Hmm.. Maybe I could reduce the controversy and hassle if I just put together a site of my own (Geocites and Xoom are free, right?) and put any pertinent clone info there instead of taking up space on one of the more official sites. If I were (...) (25 years ago, 24-Nov-99, to lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw, lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands, lugnet.cad.dev)

  Re: Clone DATs--any interest?

(...) Sure, I'd help. But *practically* <grin> how would it fit in? Would there be a 'Non-Lego' main section of the site as in (URL) Because it can't go under /download/updates/ - that's saved for official L-CAD [1] parts updates. I don't think it (...) [ XFUT lugnet.cad.dev.org.ldraw and lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands ] Dave Schuler: I don't think I would ever use clone parts (as in shape, not necessarily as in producer) myself, but I definitely think that we should admit that LDraw can be used for (...)   Tente

There's a couple of Tente sets being auctioned on Amazon: (URL) I'm not the one selling them. (25 years ago, 23-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  My Tente Aircraft Carrier

To those who are interested, I have found a Tente aircraft carrier being sold at Ebay, here's the link: (URL) set number turns out to be 0714... For those who remember, I mentioned having a set myself, which is different from the one listed on Ebay. (...) (25 years ago, 20-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Ultra-Blox?

Does anyone have information on this brand of clone? I've won a sizable number quite cheaply on Ebay (I was bidding only on the MegaBloks portion of the lot; the rest came with it), and I wondered what I might expect to receive. Are they compatible (...) (25 years ago, 19-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Target and McDs toys

Yesterday, I wondered thru two different Target stores looking for clearanced Legos. None found. But I did note that both stores had McDs 'furby' toys for sale. I thought that was strange that McDs happy meal toys made it to the toy department in (...) (25 years ago, 18-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  CLONE DATs

After much procrastination and foot-dragging, here is my offering of UNOFFICIAL clone-brick DAT files for use with LCad.   Re: Yes Tente

  Yes Tente

(...) Yep it has little white jet planes, a bit smaller than your typical minifig. I think you're remembering correctly! :) When I have an opportunity, I'll try to post a picture of it. Bryan (25 years ago, 8-Nov-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

(...) I think I remeber that ship from well over ten years ago. I saw it in one of those specialty toy stores that only sell expensive, tasteful European toys like Brio blocks and those metal soldiers. Does it hace little Jet planes on it? It was (...) (...) I may be wrong, but I think the anchor is Coko blocks. It definitely is not Tyco. The 3x4x1 roof pieces with the break in the slope are almost certainly Tyco.
