  Re: Found some Atco

(...) C'est moi! It's me! I'm especially eager to have more of the Space Adventure sets. I just got back from my honeymoon in Calgary, AB and might have some things of interest to trade. --james (25 years ago, 29-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Lion Brand?

I found a small box of an old-looking squishy-block Lego-Clone in Goodwill. The bricks all have vertical serrations and the packaging looks as if it dates from the 60's or 70's! I'm guessing that it isn't actually that old, but I really don't know (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Found some Atco

I remember mentioning seeing these sets on holiday in Toronto, and someone was interested in them, but I can't remember who! But as I knew that at least someone was interested in them, and I was back in town I decided to buy them and see if someone (...) (25 years ago, 28-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

  Re: New clone brand?

I was at CostCo yesterday, and they had Mega Blocks (including a large powerboat) and Knex. Didn't notice any trains, but I don't generally give clones a second glance. Adam (...) (25 years ago, 18-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Airix - Better Builder - anyone heard of it?

Hi, I found a set by Airfix called Better Builder. Has anyone heard of this brand? It appears to be from the 50s. Any help is much appreciated. -- Have fun! John AUCTION Page (More soon!)   New clone brand?

My wife was at COSTCo today and saw some imitation LEGOs. In her words, she said they looked exactly like LEGO, but they were another brand. She didn't catch the name but said they had boat and train sets. I don't know of any imitation LEGO brand (...) (25 years ago, 14-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

I'd use Ritvik in underpinnings if it was strong enough(1). GMLTC modules are on carriers, but ultimately are held together by the adhesive force of the studs in them. Any minor variations in that mean you have stress fracture fault line potentials. (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: Ritvik quality or lack of such (was Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

(...) No. There's also no reason you can't build it out of Tente, wooden blocks, uncooked (or cooked!) macaroni, or dryer lint. But none of those things are Lego, and neither is Ritvik, even if Ritvik is more easily compatable with Lego. Some people (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Ritvik quality or lack of such (was Re: Bulk Ordering - Secrets Revealed.

(...) Okay, here we go... Do Ritvik bricks really fall apart in the sun (that's an exxageration :-) How suitable are they for a project like, for example, building a 5-foot-high replica of the US Capitol Building? I ask because Ritvik bricks can (...) (25 years ago, 6-Aug-99, to lugnet.off-topic.clone-brands)

Re: VERY-shifty scans (Re: "Shifty" rip off brand)

I have 2 or three of these in the flesh and they are terrible. I got one as a gift from a very kind person who knew I would find them interesting and the other two I traded for at the LL Legofest, they were brought over from Japan, so they've been (...)
