   I don't want to be a naysayer, so I won't be, I'll merely
"modify" this sentiment so I can me-too it.  IMHO creating
an MOC to sell the way that Lawrence W. suggests is a little
different than what GoB does.  I doubt (but will not assume)
that he doesn't have enough pieces to build 10 of something,
which IIRC is the rough "break point" that makes the ancillary
work required to market models of GoB calibre worthwhile (and
which I would guess contributes significantly to their recognised
   value on the open market).

I was looking particularly at this MOC auction
http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=541110743

This seems to have gotten a higher price than selling the 2 6274 kits (that
would have been consumed to make it) individually. And he still has a pirate
ship bow and stern left over to auction separately.

It was just that I had 2 6274s (or more accurately 1.99 of them)
I also have a spare pirate pieces which I could sell individually or try to
constuct into the MOC

It seems interesting that it looks as if an incomplete pirate set sold as a
whole can go for less than if broken into parts and the interesting ones
like hull, masts etc, sold individually.

PS who is GoB

regards
lawrence
