Anatomy of a Shop At Home group order

A few days ago, in this thread: (URL) mentioned the large group order that we (my co-workers & I) do every year about this time. This was our third annual and largest order yet. I'm not sure how many other people do this in their office/workplace or (...) (22 years ago, 7-Nov-04, to lugnet.market.shopping, lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.general, lugnet.dear-lego)

Re: Creator Set has 500 extra pieces in dazzling colors...

(...) LOL Avery, I'm sure some non-US AFOLs will (and probably already have!) done a deal similar to this with their US friends. I have no particular desire to acquire these sets, though if they became available here at retail I would probably buy 1 (...) (22 years ago, 2-Oct-04, to lugnet.general, lugnet.market.theory, FTX)

Re: Tough times in Toytown force LEGO® to rebuild

(...) That's one of the big things, but there's a much bigger variety of organized sports and other outdoor activities for kids these days. Computers/internet probably accounts for another big chunk of time, and just buying a basic computer costs (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-04, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Tough times in Toytown force LEGO® to rebuild

(...) I would guess video games. It's fairly easy to keep kids away from them before they start school, but once they do and hear of the games other kids are playing it becomes quite difficult. Maggie C. (22 years ago, 5-Sep-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Tough times in Toytown force LEGO® to rebuild

(...) Am I the only one who was shocked to read this? A quick perusal of LEGO catalogs from 1984--1994 shows clearly that TLG's core market was boys aged 6--12. What happened in the past ten years that shrunk TLC's core market by 29% and skewed it (...) (22 years ago, 5-Sep-04, to lugnet.mediawatch, lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Authorized Lego retailers

(...) The following text comes directly from an actual Lego Systems, Inc. order invoice/packing slip from March 2003 on a form dated January 1993. Only relevant portions reproduced here exactly as presented on the form; emphasis is exactly as on the (...) (22 years ago, 11-Aug-04, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Authorized Lego retailers

(...) Is that still the case? There are a couple of small online LEGO retailers in Australia (that I know of), neither currently have a store-front, though one did a couple of years ago. That one (which is currently closed for personal reasons) also (...) (22 years ago, 10-Aug-04, to lugnet.market.theory)
