  Re: Rants about Bricks

(...) I think there are atleast 8-10 there. I wonder if they are on both sides of the helicopter :) Now if Lego would only make a light grey version of this set! We would all love a castle window and door accessory pack. Ben (23 years ago, 25-Jun-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Rants about Bricks

(...) Regarding that set, the wings of that helicopter, are they made from red castle windows? looks like there at least 8-10 there. (2 URLs) (23 years ago, 24-Jun-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Rants about Bricks

Hello! (...) Ah! Thanks for the hint! This set indeed seem to be full of useful parts. Lots of red top-rounded windows (though without panes I'm affraid). Even better: 2 studs wide red 75° slopes that you can't have too much of. BTW, red 75° corner (...) (23 years ago, 24-Jun-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

  Re: Rants about Bricks

(...) Richard and Jojo, The 2x2x3 double convex slopes in red are in the new Air Blazers (#4403) set. I do not own it but you can see one of the slopes in the picture on LEGO.com This set looks very cool with many pieces that will be good for (...)   Toys R Us hooks up with Albertsons

(URL) like Albertsons wants to increase toy sales (which are almost no existant I would guess). I wonder how this will play when a TRU in across the street from an Albertsons ? (like Tallahassee where they are about 4 or 5 blocks apart). Ray (23 years ago, 19-Jun-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

(...) How do we know that girls aren't currently being reached? Do we have any statistical evidence based on proper sampling techniques? It's just that this claim about girls and Lego appears from time to time on LUGnet, but it always seems to be (...) (23 years ago, 18-May-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

(...) Exactly. TLC has never been profit-oriented, or they would have long ago diversified into war-toys, or switched to more economical materials (ie: inferior quality). (...) Maybe they should do a traditional minifig theme focusing on the (...) (23 years ago, 18-May-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

(...) I agree that they have many products that do not make as much profit. But that is part of what LEGO is. They are a company interested in creating family oriented educational/creative products. (...) At least LEGO is trying. Unfortunately there (...) (23 years ago, 18-May-03, to lugnet.market.theory)

Re: TLC's WW Matter (was Re: Death of lugnet.western?)

(...) Or, as TLC would probably refer to it, "the formula that is profitable." Actually, for a company as large as LEGO is, I'm surprised that they diversify into less profitable areas as much as they do (Legends, USC, Bulk, Mosaics). (...) <snip> (...)   Re: Use of trademarks.. is www.legoaftermarket.com legal?

(...) Seriously? Hah! I never actually checked the website out, but in order for him to file a class-action lawsuit, he'd kinda need to be a lawyer (otherwise it'd just be a personal lawsuit). Anyways, it'd be drop-kicked out of the courtroom in a (...) (23 years ago, 13-May-03, to lugnet.market.brickshops, lugnet.market.theory)

Re: Use of trademarks.. is www.legoaftermarket.com legal?

I've never seen this site before (or if I did I don't remember it). I think it's funny that he claims that he is going to file a class action law suite over the re-release of the Metroliner. I wonder how far that got? Probally about as far as his (...) (23 years ago, 12-May-03, to lugnet.market.brickshops, lugnet.market.theory)

(...) These things take time, and they are but one task on the to-do list. Plus, we aren't trying to be jerks about this stuff, so we give people time to make the switch.   Re: Use of trademarks.. is www.legoaftermarket.com legal?

(...) Nope. LEGO is a registered trademark, and _any_ unauthorized use of it can be prosecuted. If they so choose.
