In general I think a set is more valuable as parts. (Like an automobile) The Millenium Falcon might be an exception to that rule though. It's been going for more than 250 dollars recently. Reminds me of the Guarded Inn prices a couple of years ago. (...) (24 years ago, 4-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory)

I agree. I have had multiple transactions with this seller myself, all with no problems, so I don't mean to imply that anything underhanded was going on. I was just taken aback by the feeding frenzy surrounding this minifig in recent auctions. I (...) (24 years ago, 4-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory)

I think she only has 4 of them left now. The last couple sold for around 32 bucks a couple of months ago. And I know she doesn't have any shill bidding going on. People just get into a feeding frenzy. She sold a bunch of minifigs over the weekend (...) (24 years ago, 4-Nov-02, to lugnet.market.theory)

The "consumer confidence" indicator just hit a 9-year low. People got laid off yesterday. It's raining Icee ice outside (just kidding) Sometimes you have to enjoy all the Lego you already have. Hello! I have been a small time eBay seller since Janurary, yet to veture into bricklink, and I have had a very good summer. I recently reinvested all my profit into some good stock for the holidays. I know that I shouldn't expect a major increase (...) (24 years ago, 31-Oct-02, to lugnet.market.theory, lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.general)

(...) A big 'Thank You' to Kerry and to Allan for the insightful responses. The two auctions went higher than I planned to bid anyway, so shipping won't be a problem for me. Thanks again! Dave! (24 years ago, 30-Oct-02, to lugnet.market.theory)
