While I can certainly understand your frustration, I'd think this is
probably a safety mechanism and a good policy for them to have. Most items
that are recalled are usually recalled for safety or quality issues.
Imagine the backlash if a store were to sell a known recalled item that had
safety issues and then someone went and hurt themselves with it.
Sure, that is not the case with the Ogel set, but I doubt that store
personel can keep up with the reasons for every recall. It's probably best
that they just don't sell anything that is recalled.
Of course, it would also be best if they actually took it off the shelf and
sent it back to the manufacturer like they were supposed to. I find it hard
to believe that it would make it through the clearance markdowns without
someone scanning it.

| One of the superior ladies pointed out an incident with a recalled toaster that she sold. The set was taken off the shelves some time ago and finally reappeared. I don't think Lego would take the time now to repackage that set and ship it back to (...) (23 years ago, 5-Mar-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)
