My impression is that managers are afraid of encouraging people to trash
sets themselves in hopes of getting a discount. It seems that when a
damaged box is found, they will often try to "repair" it by sealing it up
again to see if it will still be sellable, and if not then it might finally
go into the clearance bin. In my opinion, this just makes the store look
trashy by having an aisle of garage-sale-worthy junk, but the TRU management
seems not to agree.
