No. Were it that the "good sales" should be so easy to find...
Target actually "cycles" discount levels; in past years, these cycles
were every 14 days (IIRC), starting on a Wednesday morning, usually the
last Wednesday or two before Christmas. I don't know if there are
any 40%-levels out there yet (Troy, have you seen any?), but that's
usually when the clock starts ticking. It goes 40% off - 60% off -
75/80/etc% off...and a lot of stores never even get around to marking
some stuff down, so you HAVE to scan everything that looks like it
might be discontinued.
In previous years it's been pretty predictable; however, last
year it was *very* oddly staggered. For example, some stores
had their discounts out Tuesday night; others didn't discount
until Friday or, in one very odd case, the following Thursday.
So you have to hover a bit--and be willing to blow potentially
a LOT of time on the "score". Last year didn't pay off nearly
as well as the year before, but I still made off with $800 of
stuff for about $175--including 24 copies of 7144 for a total of
about $85.
So, uh, you have to try to suss out the pattern. And have a
lot of time to do it. And a car.
