Isn't it funny that when the store makes a mistake and we are
overcharged, we feel cheated and get very angry, but when a store
undercharges, we're happy?
I wonder what I would have done in your shoes. I tend to be
the type who, if someone hands me too much change, I'll correct
the error. On the other hand, it's annoying to have to go back
miles out of my way to correct someone's mistake. I'd probably
keep the $20, being lazy. But I'd feel guilty. If the amount of money
involved would have been enough to make me want to return to the
store if the money had come out of *my* pocket, I'd feel guilty if
I didn't go back and correct the error when the money instead
came out of theirs.

However, they would have probably said it's okay, you can keep the difference. $20 is nothing (...) (24 years ago, 15-Jul-00, to lugnet.market.shopping)
