Cut UPC bar-codes on lego products ?

While shopping today, I came across two A-Wings (out of three) with the UPC bar codes neatly sliced from the boxes (leaving a nice rectangular hole). Anyone out there know why someone might have done this ? <speculation> I could only think of two (...) (22 years ago, 12-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: LEGO Outlet in Northern Virginia...is it worth visiting?

(...) After a good friend and very good assistant manager was let go from that store for bogus (possibly even discriminatory) reasons, I won't visit or shop there again. At least not until there is a change of management in that store. KL (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

I'm from the Los Angeles, CA area, so please let me know of any stores that might not be in my local area. Thanks! (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: LEGO Outlet in Northern Virginia...is it worth visiting?

(...) Scratch and dent it what it's all about... I don't think I've ever not found something on the Scratch and Dent table. Sadly, I doubt I will get there even as often as I used to. Frank (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: LEGO Outlet in Northern Virginia...is it worth visiting?

I've made the stop on a few occasions my self and the answer is "It depends." First, the store is at Potomac Mills, a HUGE outlet mall fairly close to 95. Weekends is a total zoo - it's not a quick and easy stop then. Given the delays on 95 around (...) (22 years ago, 11-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Republic Gunship in Utah

Don't know if anyone in here is in this area, but the Orem, Utah Wal-Mart has one Republic Gunship and one UCS Yoda left as of last night. I picked up the gunship a week ago there, and thought it was the only one--this other one must have been (...)   Zany Brainy

Any else part of this "special offer" email list from ZanyBrainy. They send me this code of ym211 and it gives me 15% off. That would be great, but I can't use it in the store which still has the Rock raider base. I want one, but since I know that (...) (22 years ago, 10-Apr-02, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: So, you wanna talk strategy….

(...) You might consider setting FUT to just one of the three groups you posted to... it doesn't seem to fit all three. Just an idea. I've restricted my FUT to just o-t.fun because except in fun, I disagree with the premise that shopping need be (...)   So, you wanna talk strategy….

To outsiders, Lego collecting appears like a reasonably sedate hobby. After all, Lego is fun and colorful, and anything meant for kids must be inherently pure and good. Therefore, onlookers regard collecting Lego as a relatively peaceful pursuit. (...)
