(...) it (...) a (...) I've found that around here it usually works this way as well. It's most evident with Kmart, but I've noticed it with other stores as well. There are two KMarts in what would be considered "bad" neighborhoods, and everything (...) (23 years ago, 11-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) *snip* (...) The TRU in Redwood City, CA (halfway between San Francisco and San Jose) has raised prices 10% across the store (OK, I didn't actually price the Barbies, board games, and diapers, but I looked at a number of lines, not just Lego).   Re: Is WM about to clearance 7140 X-wing ?

(...) My experience with Wal-Mart is that while there usually isn't anything decent on clearance, it never hurts to look. In recent months I've found 8257 Cyber Strkers for $15 and 4561 Railway Express for $50 (didn't buy it though) on the clearance (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: TRU testing Lego price increases at some stores.

(...) It seems that every TRU that I have been to lists the 628 for $12.99. At TRU in Grand Rapids yesterday I didn't notice any other markups. I did notice a Naboo Swamp + Gungan Sub combo pack for $29.99, which is pretty decent price. -Jason (URL) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) My local Zany Brainy has them for $20 plus $1.65 tax. Shipping would probably be about $7. Want me to get one for you, Josh?? Paul Sinasohn (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade, lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Is WM about to clearance 7140 X-wing ?

I'm guessing Walmart's clearance procedures are store dependent, or possibly buyer dependent (for a geographic area). I've been shopping at as many as possible between Harrisburg, PA and the Mid Hudson Valley of NY. Each store seems to be in its own (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)

TRU testing Lego price increases at some stores.

In my quest for Star Wars value packs, I recently visited several local TRU stores int he Cleveland, OH area. At one store (Parmatown Mall) I noticed that almost all of the Lego sets seemed to have been marked up by about 10%. $20 sets were $22, $35 (...)   Re: Is WM about to clearance 7140 X-wing ?

My experience with the Walmarts around here (Cleveland, OH) is that these "Clearance" shelves are not permanent, just showing up when they have alot of stuff to get rid of. They are also not always in the same place, but recently have generally been (...) (23 years ago, 10-Sep-01, to lugnet.market.shopping)
