Re: Target Clearances - 75% off

(...) Over here on the western side of Lake Michigan, most of that went at 30% off. Then suddenly there was a ripple of new 75% off stock like Slave 1 which vanished in a day (I helped.) Jabba's Palace has begun to tick, beginning at 15% off. I (...) (21 years ago, 15-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

  Looking for saving?

TRU has $1 coupons on some of their sets. Mostly on the basketball sets. Constructiontoys.com is having a 20% sale on over 300 different sets. Only problem is that the sets are limited to those on stock. So once they are gone they are gone. Who (...) (21 years ago, 13-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Target Clearances - 75% off

(...) I had the same experience at Northland Mall in Southfield, MI. Most sets were only at 50% off, but I landed six to eight each of Dueling Club, the Orient Expedition elephant chariot set 7415, and the balloon set 7414 for $4.96 each. (Sorry, (...)   We have come a long way, but there is further to go...

Hey Y'all: It has been a long time since I have posted anything like the comments I am about to make. One reason for the absence of such comments is that the advent of Lego Direct has made more frequent such postings largely unnecessary -- that is, (...)   Target Clearances - 75% off

Hey all, Don't know if this is a widespread thing, but one of my local Targets (Ottumwa, IA; Kevin, there's your shot) has over half their Lego slashed anywhere between 50-75% off. New SW, HP, Racers, NBA sets, Orient sets, etc. Highlight for me was (...) (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Availability of the "Not Available" sets....

(...) It depends on the set. When the catalog lists them as "NAIAS", at that time they aren't available in any store (well, any store that's not owned by TLC). Anyways, if a S@H exclusive set sells well enough, it might be offered to retail (like (...) (21 years ago, 11-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

Re: Availability of the "Not Available" sets....

Not available in any store, means that "not available in the standard dealer catalog". But enterprising people can always get that stock through other means, so it's most often a bit of a misleading statement. For example I stock quite a few 'not (...)   Availability of the "Not Available" sets....

Hello, I was just reviewing the new catalog and trying to determine what sets to purchase. I'm keying on the sets marked "Not Available in any store" at the moment. And I thought I'd ask the general shopping populace how often one can expect to find (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)

(...) KMart and KBToys been doing it on and off for years. (Not that The Big K is a sound business model in any case...) For that matter, so have a lot of other stores. Ames used to do it. Target (in my area, at least) sometimes does it. Etc etc (...) (21 years ago, 10-Jul-03, to lugnet.market.shopping)
