Hi Mario,

the toy shop your reffering to is at Konstabler Wache. This right in the city
center/pedestrian zone. Can´t remember the name, but it belongs to the Vedes
toystore chain.
At the moment there are some really good offers for trains and for the technic
space shuttle, as well for 2 castle sets.

About prices in Germany: The prices are very different from shop to shop.
There can be price differences up to 20% without a sign that says "reduced" or
anything. For example: the "normal" price for 7128 Speeder Bikes is DM 24,95,
but there are also shops selling it for DM 19,95 as "normal" price !

Next time you come to Germany post a message to lugnet.loc.de like Larry and
we get something started... :)

Ciao, dö

I've been there the second week of October. Yes, you might like the railway
station (Hauptbahnof), and yes, it's very close to the center.

In downtown I found a toy shop with tons of Lego, nothing really old but
some hard discounted items (the two Promo trains). Don't expect to find
Crocodile Engines or Metronliners there :-), though you might find them
somewhere else in Frankfurt.

I'm not sure where the shop is. I have a map here but can't remember the
name of the street. It *might* be a left street of Berliner strasse (walking
from west to east). It's near a large square,  in a pedestrians only area,
and it's a large two store shop. I'm sure you'll find it if you ask for
(everybody in Germany seems to speak a good English).

There's also a large Toys'R'Us in Offenbach, a few miles next Frankfurt in
west direction. They have nothing really old too, but there was a shelf with
some older discounted items.

Germany is probably the European country where Lego is cheapest. But surely
the weeks before Xmas are not the best to find discounted items.
To find old or rare sets you should look for smaller toy shops, the kind
that are rapidly disappearing chewed by the large chain stores.

Good luck, and have a nice trip.

Mario
