Wanted: #570 - Fire House —Jeff Shiner
Ok... I know this is a tall order but I am looking for kit #570 - the Fire House. Actually I am looking for two of these... one that is complete that I can build and one which is MISB which I can display. This was my first kit I ever got when I was (...)         Re: Wanted: #570 - Fire House (shrink wrap)? —Kevin Loch
Careful with the "sealed" requirement. I have bought a couple of sets from that era and the boxes were never "sealed", They feature a parts tray that slides in and out of the "cover". One had shrink wrap (factory)? and one did not. The one that did (...) (25 years ago, 17-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Kevin, I asked you this very question regarding the London Bus nearly a year ago. I tend to think that 70s and 80s Town sets were packaged both with and without shrink-wrap. I have had a lot that were (they came from Europe) and a lot more that (...) (25 years ago, 18-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Must have only been a requirement for sets sold in Europe. Sanjay (1) Sets sold in (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Re: Wanted: #570 - Fire House (shrink wrap)? —Kevin Loch
I had a 585 police station that was shrink wrapped, but a 570 fire station that was not. Both were US only sets I believe. Perhaps there was a certain year that they started shrink wrapping? My guess would be 1975 or 1976, since 570 was a 1973 set, (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)

Various boxes, was Re: Wanted: #570 - Fire House (shrink wrap)? —John DiRienzo
Besides my curiosity about which sets came shrink wrapped, I also wondered about different packaging for different countries. Sanjay, is the packaging for New Zealand (I know where its at!) different from packaging in Europe? Do the boxes have set (...) Firstly it was a stupid idea to question whether people know where NZ is I now know you USian's aren't just pretty faces..... ;-) Secondly the packaging of sets sold in NZ is identical to sets sold (...)         Re: Wanted: #570 - Fire House (shrink wrap)? —Larry Pieniazek
My wife yesterday brought home a 709 police boat still in shrinkwrap. It has a US price tag. I can't say if the store added the shrinkwrap or what, but it's tight enough that it caused box deformation (moisture expansion) (...) (25 years ago, 19-Jul-99, to lugnet.market.buy-sell-trade)
