I had a 585 police station that was shrink wrapped, but a 570 fire
station that was not. Both were US only sets I believe.
Perhaps there was a certain year that they started shrink wrapping?
My guess would be 1975 or 1976, since 570 was a 1973 set, 585 was
a 1976 set and I am pretty sure my Brick yard in 1974 was not.
Of course this would only apply to the box-in-sleeve types.
Other box types like 400,402,404 had plastic covers and lids
and no shrink wrap. Smaller boxes of course had the break-open
design.
