I've noticed this also (even before the big move). It seems to be related to the
number of lots in a store. The more lots, the more likely it is to happen. On my
system (Mac / 8.6 / Netscape 4.76), the symptom is a lockup of the browser near
the end (or possibly at the end) of loading the javascript file containing the
store's list of lots / itemID's / etc. Sometimes, quiting the browser and
restarting will make the problem go away, sometimes not. It feels like the size
of the javascript is pushing some limitation of the browser near the max.
Increasing the memory allocation (to the browser) has no effect (it still
happens). When I see this on a particular store, it will occur on both of my
systems (PowerBook / 192 MB ram or iMac 160 MB ram). Browsers are running with
~25MB address space.
