Then again, maybe not. I don't see any change in his approach. If anything,
it seems a bit more breathless than last time. That auction got one bid, the
opening bid of 7500, and that seemed to be it. I am betting that leroy6970
was actually relieved.
My typical price for used LEGO is 8-10 a pound so I see this collection
worth somewhere around 3000-3750. Kevin's bid is a bit light at the moment.
What baffles me is why set a high opener if you have a reserve. At least the
second time our seller didn't do *that*, anyway.

| (...) In my opinion setting a high opener with a high reserve can be effective. It lets people know the general ballpark within which the reserve is set. Obviously if the opener is 7500 then bidding 50 bucks is probably pointless. What baffles me is (...) (24 years ago, 14-May-01, to lugnet.market.auction)
