  Talk About Inflation!!!

Just thought this may be of some interest! John (URL) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Talk About Inflation!!!

(...) casual familiarity with the Lego aisle knows that that set is standard in the mark-down bin. I know a KB that has that little waste-o'-money down to 4 bucks, and still noone wants it. (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Talk About Inflation!!!

(...) I would think that the bidder thinks it's a different set but... amazingly, 4 different bidders went over $20 for it. Sometimes, I can't figure out the logic to bidding on Ebay!! John (I'm off to KB to get 10 of 'em... just kidding) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

(...) 4 (...) logic (...) Here's another case: (URL) four sets are available at S@H for $5.00 each which equals $20+shipping. I guess that's the nature of auctions. - Bob (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Talk About Inflation!!!

(...) Yes it is. I notice that this high bidder has a feedback of 0, so maybe this seller will not get his money. Something similar happened to me once when I was auctioning off some instructions only. My description clearly stated the auction was (...) (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

(...) (URL) know its rare, but I mean, $350 for a Maiden's Cart?!?! -dead (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

"Deadmaker" <Deadmaker7@aol.com> wrote in message news:G1o1IA.AIw@lugnet.com... (...) Here is another one: (URL) like this set, but not this much! Mike - mike_walsh@mindspring.com (24 years ago, 29-Sep-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

  Re: Talk About Inflation!!!

(...) Looks like this guy got cold feet, however claims he entered the wrong amount, although it still did prove that new top bidder's maximum bid was $800.00, wow! (URL) (24 years ago, 1-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

It's not cold feet, it's bid shielding

Rick, That wasn't cold feet, that was 'bid shielding'. It's where a perp uses two really high bids to protect an auction, then deletes one right before the end of the auction. I reported the auction to safeharbor@ebay.com when I read this thread (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Thanks for the explaination, I kinda figured something was going down there, but did not know exactly what... :-) Rick (...) auctions. (...) amount, (...) (24 years ago, 2-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: It's not cold feet, it's bid shielding

Hey all I wrote to Armin (Diablo). My e-mail to him follows and his answer to me is after that. (yes I got his permission to post it to LUGnet) (Mine) Diablo I was going to bid on this until I saw it at $810. I do not know what you can do, but IMHO, (...)   Searching for more cdk3 canceled auctions

Glad that Diablo is re-doing his auction. He can get a credit from eBay for it, but it does take some time. I noticed the high bidder cdk3 canceled 3 other bids this week. Unfortunately, all of the eBay searches don't show canceled bids, so I can't (...) (24 years ago, 3-Oct-00, to lugnet.market.auction)
