I may fall into the category of frequent buyer and seller (my eBay feedback
is probably 50/50 Buy+Sell)
I buy alot of Lego in bulk from eBay, Goodwill etc. and frequently sell off
my surplus pieces...I am working a a variety of "large" projects including a
Ninja fortress, a medieval fortress, a western town/fort and some small
space vehicles. Frequently the parts I need are from discontinued themes
and no longer available or are quite costly to acquire with each new Lego
(juniorized) theme. Before the 1200 piece buckets reappeared in wide
distributuion (and the advent of Lego Direct), I found it hard to amass the
large numbers of basic bricks and specialized elements I needed...
I frequently find that I have dozens more parts that I don't need mixed with
the few I do...I auction these or trade them to recoup acquisition cost or
to obtain other parts I need...
I consider myself an honest trader/auctioner/seller...if anyone was ever
dissatisfied, I would want to know...I want people to be TOTALLY
satisfied...period. If this has not been the case with anyone who has delt
with me...tell me...my repuation and my hobby mean more to me than a couple
bucks.
I frequently find treasured sets, or much sought after elements...If I don't
want them, I sell or trade them to obtain sets elements I desire. I have
littl or no interest in Town or Trains, so I "share the wealth". I also
feel increasingly guilty about having bins of elements I don't use or need...
I try to be as skeptical as possible when purchasing, so as not to be
encumbered with a load of useless/broken/damaged pieces...this is getting
increasing harder to do given the proliferation of NonLugnet/Lego
individuals selling their collections.

I would agree that this has happened to me OUTSIDE of Lugnet....I generally
do not sell or trade parts in such poor condition, as I would not want them
myself...Quite often, however, I have encountered indiviuals that will take
"warped pitchforks" or "yellowed Train doors" because they want these
elements despite their condition. I send Digital pics (w/ a Sony Mavica) to
show the condition. When I auction on eBay try to describe everythng as
accurately as possible, in addition to providing a pic.

I Totally agree. I generally weed these out during sorting ito a "damaged"
bin. I have donated these to charity, sent them to AFOLs who paint/ modify
them, or have sold them at $1 or pound to people who know what they are
getting. So far, all of these methods have worked out well = )

| (...) Nope, not you John. I am fair enough to ask the person directly for satisfaction, so if you didn't read my complaints I didn't mean you. I guess it's just that this has happened a few times and then I noticed that the persons buying and (...) (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.auction)
