Hey Y'all:

Is it me, or is it actually the case that some people collect in order to
acquire good condition stuff and then resell or trade away the bad condition
stuff?

I am finding that there are several "dealers" of lego on ebay and elsewhere
that seem to both buy and sell -- but when I get something from them it looks
like someone else's reject lego.  I am receiving stuff with dents, chips,
chunks missing, bite marks, bent plates, etc.  This is just NOT okay!  And I
find that both of us, seller and buyer, being Lugnuts makes no difference.

Good topic.

I'll say this: At some point in the not too distant future, I am going to sell
one of my Metroliners, and one of my Airport Shuttles. The one I sell will, in
each case, be the worst example of it that I have. And I'll swap parts (and
gaps where missing parts belong) until that example has the worst part in every
case.

But whoever buys it will know that. I would be frustrated if I bought something
thinking it was pristine and the condition wasn't disclosed up front, and I
certainly would not want to do that to anyone else.

But to answer your first question, I'd say the answer is yes, and I am OK with
it, as long as full disclosure is practiced.

(...) I agree with Larry, you can sell anything you want, as long as the buyer knows what he's getting. Steve (24 years ago, 16-Jun-00, to lugnet.market.auction)
