    Anybody use PayPal?? —Alan Demlow
Hi. I was browsing Ebay listings and noticed a connection to the PayPal site (paypal.com). From reading through it, it appears that it's a free and quite handy, and offers $10 signup and referral bonuses. Anybody use it, and what kind of luck have (...)         Re: Anybody use PayPal?? —Larry Pieniazek
(...) I signed up but haven't used it to receive, only to pay. As usual, sign up via me for either PayPal.com OR X.com and I kick back 1/2 the referral to you if you use the ref lar@voyager.net I am pretty excited about these, as both checking (...)          PayPal--referral bonus slip-up... —Alan Demlow
(...) Apparently you have to go through a "special" link to get the reference via PayPal--you can't just type in an e-mail address from my understanding of it. I typed in Larry's address above--did you get a referral bonus from me, Larry? My link (...) (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

(...) I THINK you don't need the link. but here is mine: https://secure.paypa...oyager.net I don't want to get into a bidding war on this... but I will if I have to. ++Lar (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

OK, now I KNOW you don't, as I got Alan's referral, just didn't have time to kick back the kick back... but here's the link anyway https://secure.paypa...oyager.net (25 years ago, 9-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Anybody use PayPal?? —John Robert Blaze Kanehl
(...) I just used PayPal this weekend to expedite a cross country transaction....I was skeptical at first, but it worked great... The buyer suggested this method and compensated me $5 of his sign-up bonus. The benefit to me as a seller was (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Anybody use PayPal?? —Alan Demlow
(...) They talk about that in their FAQ portion on their site; I guess they hope to sometime during 2000. You can get on a mailing list to be notified when it starts. I'd love it if they did overseas stuff, too--no more trying to figure out how to (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: Anybody use PayPal?? —Doug Finney
I've signed up but haven't had a chance to use it yet. Regarding the $5 thing, that's just the minimum amount to go into your account at a time. You'll be "charged" $5 for a $1 transaction but then you'll still have $4 in your account. Actually, (...) (25 years ago, 8-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

PayPal and X.com Warning —Tim Coats
I don't mean to make anyone paranoid, but there is one very serious problem I see with these services. Technically in order for a credit card transaction to be valid there HAS to be a signature. I know that people don't alway do this, especially on (...) (25 years ago, 11-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: PayPal and X.com Warning —John Neal
(...) <snip> Even before the internet, I have used my credit cards 100s of times w/o a signature. This problem, if there is one, extends *way* beyond X and PayPal. -John (25 years ago, 12-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: PayPal and X.com Warning —Thomas D. Fulk, Jr.
(...) IMHO, On X.com I actually have an overdraft credit line of 1,000, probably everyone does. If you refused a charge It would probably draw into your overdraft then you would be responsible for paying back X.com, like any other credit account you (...)         Re: PayPal and X.com Warning —Larry Pieniazek
(...) It seems to vary by person. I suspect they run a credit report on each person as part of sign up. I know I would if I were architecting the business process... I know it varies because mine is different than yours. I won't say how much (...) (25 years ago, 12-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)

Re: PayPal and X.com Warning —Mike Stanley
(...) I've seen a range of 200 to 5,000 just in the amounts my friends, ranging from college kids with no credit, to "older folks" who have a more established track record. I'd wager they go higher (and lower - someone told me they were turned (...) (25 years ago, 12-Feb-00, to lugnet.market.auction)
