The problem with that is that what Larry sees as decent and what I see as
decent are two different things.  Which is fine by me.  I came out of the dark
ages a little less than a year ago and have gotten pretty big into trains since
(something I wanted to do when I was younger, but it was just too
expensive--I guess it's more now).  I have been trying to collect the 9V
stuff that I missed and have a rule I try to stick by.  I will only spend
twice the original value (rounded to the nearest dollar & based on what
Lugnet says the MSRP is) plus shipping.  Therefore decent for me would only be
$30 for a blue hopper car.  I believe Larry stated that a decent value to him
would be $50 (for a straight sale), more than three times the original value.
I guess I may just have to suffer through life without a blue hopper car (or
bid 30 when he puts another one on ebay and hope I don't get outbid).  I think
I can probably get over it if I don't get one.

Prior to Busy Bee finding a stash of hoppers, this set mib went for $60 to $80
US. When this little hiccup in supply gets absorbed by rtlers, the price will
again creep back up to this level. So if you want one you had better make • Larry
a decent offer.

I looked through my old catalogs, but I couldn't find the Hopper Car in any of them, so I can't confirm (...) (25 years ago, 13-Oct-99, to lugnet.market.auction, lugnet.market.theory)
